St. Louis, Mo., Aug. 21, 2012…The Great Rivers Greenway District recently hired Danni Eickenhorst to serve as Communications Manager for the organization. Danni will oversee all communications and marketing strategies and campaigns for the district, in addition to special events promotions.
The completion of the recent update to Great Rivers Greenway’s regional plan called for more focus on promoting and sustaining the River Ring, a planned interconnected system of trails, greenways, on-street bicycle routes and parks that will encircle the region. Danni joins the organization at a critical time as Great Rivers Greenway is working to complete sections of the River Ring throughout the region.
Prior to joining Great Rivers Greenway, Danni owned her own boutique public relations and marketing firm, Blank Page P.R., and also served as the content specialist and social media strategist for The Salvation Army’s Midland Divisional headquarters. At The Salvation Army, Danni spearheaded several key social media initiatives that rallied the St. Louis region around the Army and its cause, raising funds and friends during a very critical time for the organization. She also served as the Public Information Officer for The Salvation Army during the Joplin tornado aftermath in 2010, and produced a film on the organization’s efforts in aiding and restoring that community.
“For years, I’ve been a green activist and blogger, so the values of Great Rivers Greenway are very much aligned with mine,” said Eickenhorst. “Additionally, there is a great love here for the St. Louis region and the community at large, and the projects they are doing not only preserve and protect communities, but they bring them together with each other and nature. I’m excited to join the Great Rivers Greenway team and to further public support for their work.”
Susan Trautman, Executive Director for Great Rivers Greenway, states, “We searched far and wide for a candidate of Danni’s caliber – someone who would be visionary, capable and passionate about our work. We are excited to have her leading our communications and public outreach efforts.”
