Edwardsville, Ill., Aug. 27, 2012...Representatives from Veolia Water North America, the nation’s leading provider of municipal and industrial water and wastewater partnerships, recently saluted members of their Edwardsville, Ill., team for maintaining an outstanding safety record. Over the past 25 years, the team, which manages, operates and maintains the City of Edwardsville’s wastewater and water treatment plant, has recorded a Lost-Time Incidence Rate (LTIR) of zero. The LTIR measures the number of injuries or illnesses which result in time away from work.
In recognition of the team’s safety achievement, Veolia Water hosted a formal recognition dinner at Bella Milano on August 24 and presented each team member with a wristwatch to commemorate the special milestone. Those on hand to recognize the team included Edwardsville Mayor Gary Niebur; Edwardsville City Engineer Eric Williams; Veolia Water Executive Vice President, Management Systems and Health and Safety, Dan Ryan; Area Manager William A. Coleman and Edwardsville project manager John Shaw.
“Our team is honored to have been recognized for our efforts to make safety a top priority,” said John Shaw, Edwardsville project manager. “As an organization, Veolia Water continues to be ranked as one of the safest places to work in the water and wastewater industry. We’re glad to contribute by celebrating 25 years in Edwardsville with no lost-time injuries. It means a lot to the employees here. This team thinks about each other’s safety every day, and we’re very proud of this recognition.”
