The Gatesworth is pleased to announce the promotion of Carrie Montrey, of St. Louis, to Executive Director. Montrey replaces Martha Kessel, who retired this fall after 30 years with The Gatesworth.
Montrey has spent the last 16 years of her career with The Gatesworth, working to meet residents’ personal needs since she joined the organization in 2002 as Assistant Resident Services Director. In 2004, she became the Director of Spa, Fitness, Gift Shop, Security & Concierge Services. Responsibility for facilities management was added to her list of duties when she was promoted to Assistant Executive Director in 2011.
Before her time at The Gatesworth, Montrey was a Marketing Services Manager for Intrav, Inc. and Clipper Cruise Lines, a luxury travel company. After graduating from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in international studies, she spent a year serving as a VISTA leader for AmeriCorps. During that time, she developed and managed tutoring programs for low income elementary schools in Springfield, Missouri. Montrey continues to support the local community as volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, having served St. Margaret of Scotland Troop 110 in various capacities since 2011.
