6/6/2023 – Citizens For Modern Transit to Host “Candid Online Conversation” With Metro Transit Officials Regarding Recently Announced Service Changes

On the heels of Metro Transit announcing schedule and routing adjustments to 41 MetroBus routes in Missouri and Illinois as part of the quarterly service change, Citizens for Modern Transit is hosting a “Candid Online Conversation” with Metro Transit officials via Zoom on Thursday, June 8, at noon. The effort will provide an overview of the changes effective Monday, June 12, and serve as a platform for transit riders and the community at large to ask questions. The virtual event is free and open to the public. Registration is required and can be completed online at www.cmt-stl.org.

The discussion will feature Charles Stewart, Chief Operating Officer of Metro Transit, and Trenise Winters, Assistant Executive Director of Metro Transit. The conversation will be moderated by Kimberly Cella, Executive Director of Citizens for Modern Transit.

Those interested in submitting a question in advance of the forum can do so via Citizens for Modern Transit’s social media channels or by emailing the advocacy organization directly at info@cmt-stl.org. Questions will also be taken through the “chat” feature on Zoom during the forum.

“We are in the midst of a nationwide transit operator shortage that is plaguing cities across the nation – and the St. Louis area is no exception,” commented Cella. “As Metro Transit prepares to implement another round of service adjustments, we are teaming with the agency to provide a forum for the public to ask questions about current service changes and future plans.”
