6/17/2024 – Belleville Mayor Patty Gregory Appointed to St. Clair County Transit District’s Board of Directors

Patty Gregory, the Mayor of the City of Belleville, has been appointed as the newest member of St. Clair County Transit District’s Board of Directors. She will serve a four-year term on the board.

Mayor Gregory is the first female to serve at the helm of the City of Belleville and has become a driving force for change and inclusion since her inception into office in May 2022. Her prior experience includes founding and serving as executive director of Art on the Square, which is held in Belleville’s city square each May. Under her direction, the fine art show grew to become nationally ranked and a driving force for economic development and art exhibition throughout Belleville. Mayor Gregory also spent more than three decades in education – mainly in the Collinsville School District – serving as both a special education and second grade teacher.

“We are very pleased to welcome Mayor Gregory,” commented Ken Sharkey, managing director for the St. Clair County Transit District. “Her background, expertise and compassion for community will go a long way in helping guide our efforts to provide safe, quality and cost-effective public transportation options in St. Clair County.”
