ST. LOUIS, Mo., August 28, 2012…Whether you’re a seasoned coupon shopper or a beginner you can save by using your mobile device to find and use coupons, compare prices or receive deal notifications. There are currently 1.8 billion smartphones in theU.S.and as that number increases, mobile couponing is expected to rise along with it. “In honor of National Coupon Month why not put your device to work for you by downloading a few mobile couponing apps?” Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Missouri. “At U.S. Cellular we know that your phone simplifies and enhances your life, which is why we provide a high-speed nationwide network to keep you connected to the apps and information you want when you need it.”
The following free apps are available in the Google Play store and can help you save with your device during National Coupon Month and beyond:
- Grocery Smarts Coupon Shopper – This app can help people make the most of the trip to the grocery store. It tracks items and prices from the latest weekly deals at Target, Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid and Wal-Mart and cross-references all manufacturers’ coupons with the in-store deals to get the best possible price. The app will show you if a coupon is available online or in your newspaper circular.
- TapSave – With more than 750,000 users, this app allows you to shop and save from your mobile phone. Users can sign up for deal notifications in categories that interest them, and instead of waiting for a mobile site to load on your phone, users can buy products inside of the TapSave app.
- GeoQpons – This app claims to contain more coupons and offers than any other coupons app in the market today, including thousands of mobile coupons, offers and deals from top name brand retailers, restaurants and local businesses. The app features built-in shopping tools, including a barcode scanner for price check, a calendar to remind you of coupon expiration dates, a savings calculator to determine your exact savings and the ability to search for and send coupons to friends and family via email or SMS.
- Dining Deals – Dining Deals offers deals at restaurants across the U.S. Users can sign up for Hot Deal Alerts to be notified when the app finds a great deal. You can search by restaurant, and coupons are displayed either as coupon codes (for use online) or digital coupons (for use in-restaurant). Be aware, though, that some retailers only accept printed coupons. This app also allows you to share deals via email or text message.
