The Great Rivers Greenway District is pleased to welcome Seth Treptow, of Collinsville, and Beth Berns, of Affton, to its growing team. Treptow has joined as communications manager, overseeing all communications and marketing strategies for Great Rivers Greenway, in addition to special events promotions; while Behrns is serving as Finance and Administration Manager, where she is responsible for all day-to-day accounting functions and the administration of staff benefits for the District.
Treptow brings to Great Rivers Greenway nearly 15 years of experience in communications and marketing, including a background in social media and video production. His prior experience includes serving over 10 years with Beta Gamma Sigma Inc., where he most recently held the position of Communications Director. During his time there, Treptow oversaw the development of all communications content, including print publications, social media and video production. He also planned and executed special events. Treptow’s background also includes experience as a broadcaster and as a freelance producer, where he worked with clients on a variety of print, web and video projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Behrns has worked in the financial industry for over 20 years with a background in accounting, budget development and benefit administration. Before joining Great Rivers Greenway, she served for more than 20 years at St. Louis Altenheim Senior Long Term Care Facility. As accounting manager, she was responsible for the complete financial accounting process, developing an annual operating budget, managing external financial audits and oversaw human resources functions. Her background experience also includes working in hospital-based healthcare, as well as the banking and investment arena – all in a financial, accounting and management capacity. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri – St. Louis, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Treptow and Behrns will stay busy as the District continues to grow the River Ring Trail System, which serves as a connection for residents and tourists to regional destinations and the outdoors. To date, the District has completed more than 110 miles of the River Ring system, which will ultimately include 45 greenways and 600 miles of trail, and additional projects are in the works.
“Both Seth and Beth bring a wealth of knowledge in the communications and financial industries and are a wonderful addition to our organization,” said Susan Trautman, executive director of Great Rivers Greenway. “Their unique mix of skills and experience will be vital as we continue our work to expand the River Ring and make the St. Louis region a better place to live.”
